MAOT Bridge Admissions

We welcome your application for the St. °µÍø½ûÇø's Occupational Therapy Bridge Master’s Program. Apply for admission and start in either the fall or spring semester.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam for the occupational therapist, administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, all states require licensure to practice, however state licenses are typically based on the result of the NBCOT exam. A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT exam or attain state licensure.

The MAOT Bridge Program must receive ACOTE accreditation for students to sit for the NBCOT exam

Eligibility and Prerequisite Course Requirements

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • NBCOT Certification
    Students will upload a copy of their initial or current OTA NBCOT certification.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
    Students will send their official transcript from the school that granted the degree.

  • Minimum GPA 
    3.0 overall for Bachelor or Master’s degree. St. Kate’s utilizes a holistic admissions process and will consider student applications with a 2.7 or higher if a student can show a progression in their academic tenure and a commitment to achieving academic excellence.
  • Recommendation   
    During the application process, students will be asked to provide the name and email of either a supervising occupational therapist, former fieldwork educator or faculty member.  St. Kate’s will email the recommendation form directly to the contact provided.
  • Current Resume 
    Students will upload their resume during the application process.

  • Previous St. °µÍø½ûÇø Graduates 
    St. °µÍø½ûÇø OTA alumni with a Bachelor’s degree will be granted automatic provisional entrance into the Bridge program.

  • One year of Experience  
    Students must have 1 year of experience working as an occupational therapy assistant (a minimum of 20 hours per week) by the start of the semester enrolled. 

Test Scores

Test scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are not required.

Essential Functions and Technical Standards

A practicing occupational therapist must be physically, cognitively, emotionally and mentally capable to meet the rigorous demands of clinical practice. The  defines the essential functions and technical standards that OT students must meet in order to successfully progress through the program. All students must be capable of meeting these requirements or similar with or without reasonable accommodation.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that their application is completed by the deadline. The Admission Committee will not review your application until we have received all required documents. Fulfillment of the admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program. No credentials will be returned to the applicant.
