St. 做厙輦⑹ announced today it has named JaeEun Joo, EdD, to be its first associate provost of adult education and online learning. Joo, who begins in this role on July 14, 2025, will bring a 25-year career in online education to the role, which she will use to expand St. Kates global portfolio, strengthen educational and operational quality, forge strong partnerships, and ensure outstanding learner experiences.
"St. 做厙輦⑹ has long supported the educational journeys of a broad spectrum of learners, from traditional-aged college students to graduate students and returning adults seeking to upskill or complete their degrees, said Denise Baird, senior vice president and provost at St. 做厙輦⑹. Focusing the associate provost role on adult education and online learning reflects this long-standing commitment to the varied student audiences that thrive at St. Kate's.
With a strong record of accomplishment in designing and delivering academic programs that align with best practices in adult education and online learning, Dr. Joo is the right results-oriented and resourceful person for this role and for St. Kate's," Baird added.
The new associate provost position will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and overseeing workforce-aligned programs tailored to the needs of various populations of learners, ensuring that St. Kates continues to provide high-quality, flexible, and accessible educational opportunities. Working under the senior vice president and provost, Joo will lead activities across divisions to drive success in adult education and online learning at the University.
Joo most recently worked as executive director of online learning at Metropolitan State University (MSU) Denver in Colorado, where she developed a comprehensive strategic plan for their Office of Online Learning that aligned with the universitys strategic plan, increasing student enrollment while leading faculty development to support online teaching and learning.
Prior to her role at MSU Denver, Joo worked as an independent education consultant from 2020 to 2024 and as a research scientist in the University of Connecticuts Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, where she promoted technology integration in STEM programs from 2018 to 2020.
Joo also comes with experience from the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut, where she worked as director of Neag online programs and associate professor-in-residence in the Department of Educational Psychology from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, she has focused on developing and improving innovative online, hybrid, and residential educational programs and achieving faculty and learner success.
Joo received her Bachelor of Arts in Educational Technology from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, before studying for both her masters and doctorate degrees at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
